Councillor Training Register

In accordance with section 5.127 of the Local Government Act 1995 and Council Policy - Councillor Training and Continuing Professional Development, the Shire will publish a report detailing the training completed by Councillors for the financial year.

The report will be published after the end of the financial year to which the report relates.

Under section 5.126 of the Local Government Act 1995, Councillors must complete Council Member Essentials training within 12 months of being elected to the Council. 

There are five core modules to complete:

  1. Understanding Local Government
  2. Conflicts of Interest
  3. Meeting Procedures
  4. Serving on Council
  5. Understanding Financial Reports and Budgets
