The Fire Control Information Notice details measures land owners are required to take before 5 October 2020. The preventative measures outlined within the notice will make your property easier to defend if a fire does breakout. It will also reduce the risk of fires spreading if a bushfire is threatening the Shire. The notice is issued under Section 33(1) of the Bush Fires Act 1954. Penalties apply if residents are non-compliant.

Fire Warnings and Bans
Harvest Bands will be broadcast daily on ABC, 558AM and 630AM, radio at the following times over summer;
10:05am, 12:35pm, and 3:05pm

Firebreaks
All owners and occupiers are required to clear inflammable material from firebreaks on or before the 3 October 2022, and thereafter maintain the firebreaks, up to and including the 28 April 2023. Point Henry Fire Control Information Notice
The Point Henry Fire Break Notice had a requirement added in 2015 that all development in the Point Henry Rural Residential area have the following elements brought up to state-wide policy standards over a five year period;
- Compliant access/driveway, landowners must comply by 31st October 2016
- Turnaround for heavy firefighting vehicles, landowners must comply by 31st October 2017
- 20,000L dedicated water supply, landowners must comply by 31st October 2018
- 20m Asset Protection Zone (APZ), landowners must comply by 31st October 2019
