Bremer Bay Town Centre

The Shire of Jerramungup has been planning, designing and constructing a new town centre for Bremer Bay.  The new town centre is accessed directly from a new roundabout on Bremer Bay Road and extends along Seadragon Avenue and down into town.  The new main street overlooks Tallerack Reserve and out to the Fitzgerald River National Park and Bremer Beach.  It is planned to be the new commercial and civic centre for Bremer Bay as it grows over time..

The development of the Bremer Bay Town Centre is guided by the Bremer Bay Town Centre Structure Plan and Design Guidelines.

The town centre currently includes the following elements:

  • New Main Street (Seadragon Avenue) and minor roads;
  • Civic square and skate park opened in September 2018;
  • A single commercial lot currently being developed with a Craft Brewery and future mixed use units for retail and holiday accommodation;
  • A medium density residential lot currently being developed with five (5) independent living units (ILU’s)

New lots will be created by the Shire in response to demand; so if you have a business proposal for the new main street, please drop us a line!

Planned projects include a new civic building to house a relocated Community Resource Centre, library, tourist information and a Shire office presence.

Civic Square and Skate Park

The Shire of Jerramungup, with support from LotteryWest and the State Government, have constructed a new civic square and skate park in the heart of the new town centre.  The park used locally donated materials, a design the reflects the surrounding landscape and offers something for everyone.  The Park consists of:

  • A new, all ages skate park;
  • A nature based playground centered around the recreation of the wreck of the Agnes
  • Shelter, tables and barbeques; and
  • Active play space, public toilets, drinking fountain, bicycle parking and more.

The park was opened in September 2018 by the Hon. Peter Watson MLA, Member for Albany in an event that included skate clinics, live music and fireworks.  The park continues to host skate clinics in the school holidays organised by the Bremer Bay CRC.

This development is the keystone of the future planning for Bremer Bay.
